Where is Ohio State football ranked in the polls after Week 3?

Ohio State is now ranked No. 3 in both major top-25 polls.

A week after Texas jumped the Buckeyes in the Associated Press poll , the Longhorns overtook them in the US LBM coaches poll .

The Longhorns moved up a spot to No. 2 in the coaches poll and vaulted further up in the AP poll , surpassing Georgia for the top spot after the Bulldogs struggled Saturday in a narrow 13-12 win at Kentucky.

The updated polls were released on Sunday afternoon.

The Buckeyes , who debuted at No. 2 in the preseason polls , were idle this past weekend after routing Akron and Western Michigan during the first two weeks.

They outscored the overmatched Mid-American Conference schools by a combined margin of 108-6, and the shutout of the Broncos on Sept. 7. marked their first time they had blanked an opponent in five years.

But Texas, which made the College Football Playoff a year ago, has impressed voters with a win at Michigan on Sept. 7 and further dominance in a 56-7 win over UTSA. The latest blowout victory came despite an injury to star quarterback Quinn Ewers, who left in the second quarter after straining an abdomen.

While Georgia and Texas are flip-flopped at the top of the rankings, there is a consensus between the polls with the rest of the top-five.

Following the third-ranked Buckeyes, Alabama is No. 4 and Mississippi is No. 5, leaving Ohio State as the only non-Southeastern Conference team in the top-five.
