Singer-songwriter Elle King , who spent part of her childhood in Columbus, has been announced as the supporting act for Cyndi Lauper's Nov. 3 concert at the Schottenstein Center.

King broke through on the top 10 charts with the 2014 hit "Ex's & Oh's" which would become the lead single from her debut album, "Love Stuff," released in early 2015.

Tickets for the concert, which is part of Lauper's farewell tour, start at $34 at ticketmaster.com . For details about VIP packages, which start at $273, go to vipnation.com .

King's sound — blues rock with a country edge — is reflected in the artists she cites as influences: Etta James, Aretha Franklin, Al Green, Otis Redding, Hank Williams, Johnny Cash and AC/DC.

The 35-year-old musician is also known for songs such as "Under the Influence," "America's Sweetheart" and "Different for Girls," a team-up with Dierks Bentley that won the CMA Award for Musical Event of the Year in 2016.

King also has won an Academy of Country Music Award and has been nominated for four Grammys, two each in the rock and country categories.

The daughter of comedian-actor Rob Schneider and former model London King, she uses her mother's surname to differentiate her career and identity from those of her father, with whom King describes her relationship as "ebb and flow." Despite their differences, she appeared in a few of Schneider's movies as a child, teen and young adult.
