Two teams battling for at least one home game – and maybe a second – in the Division I, Region 3 high school football playoffs face off Friday when Groveport visits Pickerington Central in OCC-Buckeye action.

Groveport (4-3, 2-2) has lost consecutive close games, falling 21-14 to Teays Valley and 22-21 to Reynoldsburg . The Cruisers led the former 14-6 entering the fourth quarter and lost the latter on a 24-yard field goal on the game's final play.

Central (5-2, 4-0) has won four in a row since losing to Pickerington North 38-27 on Sept. 6 . The Tigers have dominated those games, all in league play, outscoring their opponents 191-37.

Groveport is No. 7 and Central is No. 4 in this week's Region 3 computer ratings. The top eight teams open the playoffs at home, and second-round games are played on the home field of the better seed.
