Biscuits & Jams is bringing its tasty approach to brunch to Downtown Memphis

Popular Bartlett breakfast joint Biscuits & Jams is bringing its extensive menu to a new Downtown Memphis location.

The new location will open Friday, May 17, inside Hotel Indigo, a historic Memphis hotel just one block north of AutoZone Park. This comes less than three years after the first Biscuits & Jams location opened in August 2021.

“The hotel wanted to partner with someone who could really do breakfast well,” Biscuits & Jams owner Monique Williams said in a previous story . “And that’s what we do. We have our own identity — and I think that’s why Hotel Indigo liked us."

Biscuits & Jams offers a varied menu with far more options than a typical breakfast of eggs and bacon. There are classic Southern options like fried green tomatoes, shrimp 'n' grits bathed in house-made roux, or shrimp and crawfish Creole benedict for some Louisiana flavor in your breakfast. Expect a menu with additional creole-themed options Downtown.

If you're feeling less adventurous there are plenty of tried-and-true options like waffles, French toast, sandwiches and burgers, or a hearty bowl of eggs, potatoes, cheese, sausage and veggies. And, of course, biscuits, topped with anything from pork sausage gravy to fried eggs or hot, crispy fried chicken.

Ask about Biscuits & Jams' bar menu too: There's a collection of seasonal brunch cocktails and mimosas available to try.

Biscuits & Jams bills itself as being all about combining great food with great music; there's a double meaning when it comes to the name "Jams." The Bartlett location hosts live music of all genres on weekend and runs a playlist of popular and old-school music, and the new location will follow suit.

The Hotel Indigo location will be aesthetically similar to the original: a white and pale green décor, with some music-related décor like photos of iconic Memphis musicians. The dining room features an open kitchen as well.

The hotel's basement lounge, the Memphis Sounds Lounge, is also being rebranded as "The Juke." Modeled after a classic Southern juke joint, the 1,100-square-foot bar will feature moonshine-based drinks, honoring Williams' grandmother, whom she fondly remembers making both biscuits with jam, and moonshine later in life. The lounge will open later in 2024.

Biscuits & Jams opens Friday, May 17. Reservations are recommended on weekends.
