    Memphis' Memorial Day weekend could be a rainy one. Here's how much rain the Mid-South could get

    Memorial Day weekend may end up being more of a slip and slide than you are expecting thanks to the rain moving our way.

    Starting Wednesday, Memphis is predicted to see rain for six days in a row ending on Tuesday next week. According to the National Weather Service, it's possible the Mid-South will see four to six inches of rain over the next several days.

    Here is what we know about the incoming weather.

    Rain, rain go away

    The National Weather Service has shown Memphis as having a slight chance for scattered severe storms on both Wednesday and Thursday. During this time, it's possible for winds to get over 60 miles per hour and ping pong ball sized hail to occur.

    "A slight risk is in place for severe storms capable of producing damaging winds and large hail Wednesday afternoon. Several systems will cross the region for the remainder of this week that will also threaten damaging winds and large hail," said the forecaster's discussion from the weather service.

    It is not expected to rain and thunderstorm the entire period, but rain is expected frequently. Every day between Wednesday and Sunday will have at least a 50% chance of rain with Monday having a 30% chance.

    Memphis seven-day weather forecast

    Wednesday sees a high of 84 degrees and a low of 68 degrees. There is an 80% chance of showers and thunderstorms before 5 p.m. There is then a 60% chance of showers and thunderstorms before 9 p.m. and after 4 a.m.

    Thursday will have a high of 83 degrees and a low of 69 degrees. There will be an 80% chance of showers before 1 p.m. and then a 70% chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 a.m.

    Friday sees a high of 86 degrees and a low of 69 degrees. There is a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms during the day and a 60% chance after 1 a.m.

    Saturday could see a high of 85 degrees and a low of 71 degrees. There is a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms for the day. There is again a 50% chance of storms after 1 a.m.

    Sunday will have a high of 89 degrees and a low of 70 degrees. There is a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms during the day and a 70% chance before 1 a.m.

    Monday could see a high of 86 degrees and a low of 65 degrees. There is a 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms for the day and night.

    Tuesday will be mostly sunny with a high near 78 degrees.
