    Meet the Memphis area top high school boys and girls golfers for the 2024 TSSAA season

    With the Tennessee high school golf season underway, here's a look at Memphis area boys and girls golfers to watch in the 2024 TSSAA season.

    Memphis area boys golfers to watch

    Brandon Clark, Arlington, Sr.: Clark is one of several upperclassmen aiming to get the Tigers back to the Class AA state tournament.

    Evans Haynie, Arlington, Sr.: Haynie excelled this summer on the Sneds Tour and helped the Tigers (161) defeat Bartlett (162) in their season opener.

    Andersen House, Bartlett, Sr.: House has won medalist honors twice to kick off 2024, shooting 36 in each match for the Panthers.

    Grey Collard, Christian Brothers, So.: Collard shot a 72 last season in the Collierville Dragon Invitational and 76 at regionals.

    Miles McNamee, Christian Brothers, Jr.: McNamee shot 76 at the Ronnie Wenzler Memorial and 77 in the Dragon Invitational for the Purple Wave last season.

    Jackson Whaley, Collierville, Jr.: Whaley tied for fourth (67-74—141) at the Class AA state tournament, giving him a second consecutive Top 10 finish.

    Noah Peppers, Fayette-Ware, Sr.: Peppers had a nine-hole average of 42 for the Wildcats last season.

    Maverick Wynne, Lakeland Prep, Jr.: Wynne won the district and region for the Lions, before finishing tied for 14th (80-76—156) at the Class A state tournament.

    Garrett Griffin, Lausanne, Jr.: Griffin possesses talent for the Lynx, who’ll be gearing up for a run to the Division II-A state tournament.

    Emery Butler, Middle College, Sr.: Butler, committed to LeMoyne-Owen, averaged a 44 through nine holes last season for the Bulldogs.

    Daylon Dockery, Middle College, So.: Dockery was one of the leaders on Bulldogs last season with a nine-hole average of 39.

    Eli Patrick, Munford, Sr.: Patrick had a nine-hole average of 42 last season for the Cougars.

    Brantley Moore, MUS, So.: Moore finished tied for 12th (76-70—146) last season at the Division II-AA state tournament in Sevierville.

    Wils Moore, MUS, Sr.: Moore, a Samford commitment, had a nine-hole average of 35 last season for the Owls.

    Sujay Mukatira, MUS, Sr.: Mukatira began this season with a second-place finish (3-under/141) at the Matt Cunningham Memorial/Baylor Preview Tournament.

    Cooper Solberg, MUS, Sr.: Solberg, an Ole Miss commitment, finished tied for third (72-67—139) at the state tournament. His nine-hole average in 2023 was 33.5.

    Ethan Crews, St. George’s, Jr.: Crews was second at the Division II-A West Region Tournament and finished eighth at state (76-71—147).

    Joshua Sanfratello, Tipton-Rosemark Academy, Jr.: Sanfratello had an 18-hole scoring average of 81.7 for the Rebels last season.

    Girls

    Isabella Hernandez, Arlington, So.: Hernandez, a recent transfer, came in 36th at the World Teen Championship at Pinehurst. Her three-day total was 228 (82-77-69).

    Erin Porter, Bartlett, Sr.: Porter shot 43 to earn medalist honors and help the Panthers beat Millington by four strokes at Forest Hill for their second win of 2024.

    Avery Nyen, Briarcrest, Jr.: Nyen will look to keep the Saints competitive in their quest for a Division II-AA state championship.

    Claire Todd, ECS, Sr.: Todd, a Memphis commitment, shot 144 (75-69) to capture fourth place at the Division II-A state tournament.

    Mathile Walker, ECS, Fr.: Walker shot a 77 in regionals for the Eagles and finished 12th at the state tournament (156).

    Erin McDonald, Houston, Sr.: McDonald helped the Mustangs to a third-place finish in the Class AA state tournament.

    Catherine Bowie, Hutchison, Fr.: Bowie shot 155 to finish ninth in the Division II-AA state tournament.

    Audrey Simmons, Hutchison, Fr.: Simmons, the Sting team captain, finished 18th at the state tournament in Sevierville.

    Sofia Rossi, Lausanne, Sr.: Rossi will be one of the top contenders to help represent the Lynx in 2024 postseason play.

    Sarah Hooten, St, Agnes, So.: Hooten shot an 81 last season for the Stars, who won the Division II-AA West Region championship.

    Mary Caroline Waggoner, St, Agnes, Jr.: Waggoner, the Stars’ team captain, averaged 38 in nine-hole matches last season.

    Hana Barber, St. Mary’s, Sr.: Barber had an 18-hole scoring average of 75 for the Turkeys and finished 13th at the Division II-A state tournament.

    Jada Lin, St. Mary’s, 8th grade: Lin shot 72 to win medalist honors at the TMSGA middle school state championship this past spring.

    The watchlist was compiled from submissions made to The Commercial Appeal by area golf coaches.
