Does Elvis Presley have any living family? A look at the King's kinfolk

When Elvis Presley's only child, Lisa Marie Presley, died on Jan. 12, 2023, at the age of 54, her children — Elvis' grandchildren — became the King of Rock 'n' Roll's only living descendants.

Those grandchildren are Riley Keough, 35, who inherited Graceland and is a successful model, actress and filmmaker ; and the twins, Harper Vivienne Ann Lockwood and Finley Aaron Love Lockwood, who are 15.

Elvis does have a few significant living cousins.

Elvis' first cousin, Billy Smith, is the son of the late Travis Smith, the eldest brother of Elvis' late mother, Gladys Love Smith Presley . Travis Smith worked as a gate guard at Graceland, and Billy Smith became a sort of junior member of the Elvis friends and associates known as the "Memphis Mafia."

Smith reportedly played racquetball with Elvis the night before the King died, and also heard Elvis' final performance: "Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain," played on the piano. Now in Mississippi, Smith and his wife, Jo, maintain a YouTube channel, "Elvis Fans Matter."

Patsy Ruth Presley Gambill Geranen of Olive Branch is Elvis' "double first cousin": She is the daughter of Clettes Smith (sister of Elvis' mother, Gladys) and Vester Presley (brother of Elvis' father, Vernon), who married in 1935. She was a secretary at Graceland for 20 years, working in the building behind the Graceland mansion, alongside Elvis' father, who managed many of Elvis' business affairs; she even hand-lettered the sign that was on the business office door.

A close friend to Elvis and Priscilla, "she would even go on vacations with us," said Elvis' longtime pal and associate, Jerry Schilling (a cool photograph from 1969 shows Patsy in Hawaii with Elvis and singer Tom Jones).

Patsy's son (and thus Elvis' first cousin, once removed), is Jimmy Gambill, longtime maintenance manager for Graceland, a familiar behind-the-scenes (or maybe to-the-side-of-the-scenes) figure, responsible for taking care of the grounds of the estate.

Among the cousins less directly connected to Elvis is Brandon Presley , 47, a second cousin (his grandfather, Noah, was the brother of Elvis' grandfather, Jessie). Brandon was born in Amory, Mississippi, on July 21, 1977 — less than a month before Elvis' Aug. 16 death . A moderate Democrat, he served as mayor of Nettleton, Mississippi, and was Democratic nominee for Mississippi governor in 2023. "Can Elvis Presley's Cousin Beat America's Most Scandal-Plagued Governor?" asked The Nation, in a story about the campaign; the answer, of course, was "No." However, Brandon lost to the Republican incumbent, Tate Reeves, by less than 4% — the best performance by a Democrat in that race in almost 25 years.
