The Carolina Panthers released veteran edge rusher K'Lavon Chaisson on Tuesday after signing him as a free agent to a one-year contract in March. Chaisson, 25, played the past four seasons for the Jacksonville Jaguars, who made him a first-round pick (20th overall) in the 2020 NFL Draft out of LSU. He played in 57 games (11 starts) and totaled 73 tackles, five sacks, 11 tackles for loss and 23 quarterback hits. Last season, he collected 13 tackles, two sacks and four tackles for loss with eight QB hits in 17 games as a reserve. Chaisson was expected to provide a pass rush along with veteran Jadeveon Clowney with the Panthers, who also have DJ Johnson, Eku Leota and Jamie Sheriff at outside linebacker. --Field Level Media
