MILTON — Students and community members flocked to the Milton House Museum and its surrounding grounds last weekend for the museum’s annual Civil War Living History Days event.

During the long weekend, reenactors and historians gathered to educate audiences on the Civil War era’s practices and lasting effects for the Milton community and the country at large.

As they do every year, reenactors set up stations in North Goodrich Park as well as the Milton House Museum grounds for people to talk to President Lincoln, play games and learn about medicine, clothing, printing, letter writing, the military and artillery.

This year, events also invited community members the opportunity to tour the Milton House at the own pace, speaking with reenactors who played the role of travelers and soldiers. Later, they could grab a drink with President Lincoln from Goodworks Brewing Co. or sip on Gray’s Brewing non-alcoholic ginger beer or root beer.
