Lovell of HCS voted Midseason Softball Player of the Year in Houma- and Thibodaux-area

The polls have closed and the votes have been counted. This year's Midseason Softball Player of the Year in Houma- and Thibodaux-area schools is Briley Lovell, a righthanded pitcher from Houma Christian.

Lovell may be in the eighth grade, but she's already built on her All-State season from last year, helping the Lady Warriors to a 16-3 record so far this season. She received 36.51% of the vote.

Lovell beat out runner-up Corin Talbot, a senior pitcher and infielder from Vandebilt Catholic, who received 25.25% of the vote. Aubre Fuller, a junior pitcher and infielder from H.L. Bourgeois, claimed third place with 14.86% of the vote.
