    Which Houma- and Thibodaux-area girls basketball players made all-state teams? Full list here

    The all-state teams in Louisiana high school basketball were announced throughout late March and early April.

    In the Houma- and Thibodaux-area, 10 girls basketball players made the all-state teams, representing seven different schools.

    Here's every local girls basketball player to make an all-state team:

    Class 1A

    Maddie Carey, Covenant Christian: Carey led CCA to a playoff win over Riverside Academy and was named an honorable mention.

    Class 2A

    Destiny Pierce, Houma Christian: Pierce took HCS to the Division III select playoffs and was named honorable mention to close her high school career.

    Kayleigh Pierce, Houma Christian: Pierce was also named an honorable mention for her performance.

    Class 3A

    Caroline Adams, E.D. White: A Nicholls signee, Adams is one of two basketball players from the Houma- and Thibodaux-area — either for the boys or the girls — to be named first-team all-state.

    Emily Cortez, E.D. White: Cortez helped EDW to the quarterfinals of the Division II select playoffs this season and was named an honorable mention.

    Class 4A

    Jaala Campbell, Assumption: Campbell closed her high school career with an honorable mention and a win in the 3-point contest in the Luke Ford Jr. All-Star Game.

    Mikayla Charles, Vandebilt Catholic: Charles was the second Houma- and Thibodaux-area player to be named all-state first-team.

    Journee Johnson, Vandebilt Catholic: Johnson helped the Lady Terriers to a berth in Marsh Madness this season and was named an honorable mention.

    Ellie Lorraine, South Lafourche: Lorraine closed her high school career by being named an All-Star and honorable mention this season.

    Class 5A

    Zariell Pollard, Thibodaux: Pollard was named an honorable mention after leading THS to an upset in the Division I non-select playoffs.
