Terrebonne's Miller signs to play college volleyball at Xavier University of Louisiana

Terrebonne senior Alaysia Miller led Tigers volleyball to a playoff win in the fall, but her high school career ended on Friday afternoon when Miller signed to play collegiately at Xavier University of Louisiana in a ceremony in the THS gym.

"Just going in, I thought about all the work I put in," Miller said. "All the time I put in. With everybody being here, it was nice. Hearing all the nice things everybody said to me was really wholesome."

Miller will make her official debut with XULA this August, but in her mind — not to mention in the minds of her family and friends, many of whom attended Friday's ceremony — she's already a college athlete.

"It feels great," Miller said. "I'm nervous, but at the same time, I'm also very excited."
