Week 5 of high school football in the Houma-Thibodaux area gets underway on Thursday.

The only local game on Thursday's schedule is Central Lafourche vs. Central Catholic, but each of the 12 other Houma-Thibodaux area teams are in action Friday.

Friday's schedule features many local schools playing heavyweights from out of the region, such as Terrebonne hosting Destrehan and Vandebilt Catholic traveling to Lutcher.

Still, there are two games featuring two local teams to highlight Friday's slate. E.D. White travels to South Lafourche in a matchup of two teams coming off a win, while A.J. Ellender and South Terrebonne face off in one of the region's most underrated rivalries.
