WATERLOO - On Saturday, April 20, nine Vietnam Veterans and their families were honored during a United States of America Partners Program.

The Waterloo American Legion and Auxiliary became a proud partner with the U.S.A. Vietnam War Commemoration. Since partnering in 2022, 35 Veterans from the Vietnam era and their families have been honored by Legion post 233.

This program's goal is to honor and thank Vietnam Veteran's and their families, especially those who lost loved ones.

Any living Veteran that served on active duty in any branch of the military at any time during Nov. 1, 1955 to May 15, 1975, regardless of location or duty assignment, is eligible to receive one Vietnam Lapel pin on behalf of a grateful Nation.

To learn more about the program or to honor a Vietnam Veteran during the next ceremony at the Legion Post in Waterloo, inquiries may be directed to Dennis Loomis at 920-988-3665 or Deb Krueger at 920-366-0152. Another program is being planned for September of this year with a date to be determined.
