The Waterloo baseball program enjoyed a bounce-back 2024 campaign. After going just 1-9 in Capitol — South conference play the season prior, the Pirates returned many talented seniors and turned the ship around this spring. WIS-89 construction on-target for June 19 completion
WATERLOO — The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is on schedule to complete its Highway 89 resurfacing project on schedule. WIS-89 has been closed between Waterloo and Columbus for the project since it began April 8. Pending another week of good weather, the highway is expected to re-open Tuesday or Wednesday, according to WisDOT’s 511 site for project updates. During the course of construction, vehicles have been routed from Waterloo through Marshall on WIS-19 and then north to Columbus on WIS-73. The total cost of the project was initially slated for $2.7 million in state funding.

Watertown-Beaver Dam Elks Lodge to host Flag Day celebration
The Watertown-Beaver Dam Elks Lodge will host a Flag Day celebration Saturday June 15 at 1 p.m. The Lodge is located at 117 N 1st St. in Watertown. The ceremony honors nine different flags, starting with the Pine Tree Flag, which was flown in 1776 and 1777. The celebration will culminated with the familiar stars-and-stripes flag that is familiar today. There will be an explanation of the history of each flag as the historical banners are presented by the Elks Lodge. There will be music and a Pledge of Allegiance recitation.
