    From contestants on NBC's "The Voice" to eateries on Food Network's "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives," Kentucky is not short of the spotlight on the small screen.

    People and places in Kentucky have made it into well-known television shows and some have made major cities its main destination, including "Call Me Kat," which was fictionally set in Louisville.

    Here are some television shows with Kentucky connections:

    'Call Me Kat'

    Actors: Mayim Bialik, Cheyenne Jackson and Leslie Jordan

    Synopsis: "Call Me Kat" tells the story of Kat, a woman who owns a cat café in Louisville, The Courier Journal previously reported.

    Kentucky connections: The show was filmed in Los Angeles but referenced Derby City several times, including one of the main characters wearing a University of Louisville sweatshirt while working out, a wedding reception in a Brown Hotel ballroom and even a Courier Journal reporter interviewing Kat.

    'Justified'

    Actors: Timothy Olyphant, Walton Goggins, Nick Searcy

    Synopsis: The television show follows Deputy U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens as he has to go back to Kentucky, his native state, according to the series' Hulu page.

    'Perfect Harmony'

    Actors: Bradley Whitford, Anna Camp and Rizwan Manji

    Synopsis: In "Perfect Harmony," a former Princeton music professor returns to his late wife's hometown in the countryside of Kentucky. Although he intends to leave, he ends up staying and coaching a choir from a local church, The Courier Journal previously reported.

    'The Queen's Gambit'

    Actors: Anya Taylor-Joy, Chloe Pirrie and Bill Camp

    Synopsis: "The Queen's Gambit," which is based on a novel of the same name, tells the story of orphan chess prodigy Beth Harmon as she works to become the world's greatest chess player while also struggling with emotional problems and drug and alcohol dependency, The Courier Journal previously reported.

    Kentucky connections: The limited series was not filmed in Kentucky, but it does have several references to Lexington. VisitLEX created "The Queen’s Gambit Guide to Lexington" which visits places noted in the show, including New Circle Road (one of the first references to Lexington) and Ben Snyder Department Store, The Courier Journal previously reported.

    'Vanderpump Rules: Jax and Brittany take Kentucky'

    Actors: Brittany Cartwright and Jax Taylor

    Synopsis: The reality spinoff from "Vanderpump Rules" follows the lives of Brittany Cartwright and Jax Taylor as they move back to her native state, according to the Bravo website.
