The Jefferson County Clerk's Office has been shut down after experiencing a cyberattack, according to a release.

Spokesperson Ashley Tinius said officials have contacted a cybersecurity company who will conduct a forensic analysis of the attack, but they don't believe any data was compromised.

No estimate was given on when services may be restored.

On Monday morning, a Facebook post stated that the Jefferson County Clerk's Office had to halt its services temporarily due to an "office-wide internet outage."

Two Louisville-area motor vehicle branches were closed earlier this month because the county clerk's office had to reduce a "significant backlog" that was caused by problems with the state's new motor vehicle registration system, Kentucky Automated Vehicle Information System (KAVIS), which was installed in January. The office's transition to the new system has been met with issues since its installation, including increased wait times for customers.
