Louisville's West Broadway Kroger is set to undergo a $1.25 million remodel, which includes updated décor, a wider variety of fresh food and "an increase in product and shelving for pantry staples," the company announced Thursday.

The project, scheduled to be complete sometime in 2025, also calls for updated exterior signage, lighting and new landscaping, Kroger said in a news release. The company will host a "Grand Reopening Celebration" at the 2710 W. Broadway location at a later date.

“We are proud to be part of the West Louisville community since 1929,” Kroger's Louisville Division president Jake Cannon said in a statement. “We are committed to serving our West Louisville neighborhood as an employer, grocery retailer, healthcare provider and more. We have a responsibility to create positive change and deliver on Our Purpose to Feed the Human Spirit with affordable, fresh food and friendly service.”

Kroger's Louisville Division will also invest $500,000 to increase employee wages at the West Broadway store. Starting wages for courtesy clerks will now begin at $14.70 an hour and wages for department will start at $25.85, Kroger officials said in the release.
