    Vote for Louisville-area preseason high school offensive lineman of year before poll ends

    With the 2024 high school football season beginning Aug. 23, The Courier Journal has compiled a list of the 10 top offensive linemen in the Louisville area. We are asking you — our readers — to vote here on which offensive lineman you think will have the best season.

    Listed below are 10 nominees for preseason offensive lineman of the year.

    Players from the following counties were eligible: Bullitt, Jefferson, Oldham, Shelby and Spencer.

    The poll closes at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, and the winner will be announced Friday, Aug. 23.

    Gradey Anthony, North Oldham

    Height/weight: 6-5/280

    What to know: Earned first-team all-district honors. Committed to University of Louisville.

    Aidan Brooks, DeSales

    Year: Senior

    Height/weight: 6-7/310

    What to know: Earned first-team all-district and honorable-mention All-Louisville honors. Also posted eight solo tackles and two sacks on defense.

    Xavier Crawley, Kentucky Country Day

    Year: Senior

    Height/weight: 6-4/310

    What to know: Helped the Bearcats reach the Class A state semifinals. Expected to play a bigger role on defense this season.

    Year: Junior

    Height/weight: 6-3/290

    What to know: Joins David Pellman on a formidable Crimsons line. Has an offer from Eastern Kentucky.

    What to know: He’s the No. 2-ranked prospect in Kentucky’s Class of 2026 , according to 247Sports.com. Earned first-team all-district and second-team All-Louisville honors as a sophomore. Has offers from East Carolina, Eastern Kentucky, Florida, Kent State, Kentucky, Louisville, Marshall, Miami (Fla.), Ole Miss and West Virginia.

    Logan Russell, Ballard

    Year: Senior

    Height/weight: 6-4/250

    What to know: Earned honorable-mention All-State honors and first-team All-Louisville honors. Missed part of last season with a shoulder injury. Has an offer from Eastern Kentucky.

    Height/weight: 6-5/310

    What to know: Earned first-team all-district and second-team All-Louisville honors . Committed to Austin Peay.

    Matthew Wells, South Oldham

    Year: Senior

    Height/weight: 6-8/375

    What to know: Mammoth tackle earned honorable-mention All-State honors from The Courier Journal. Has offers from Missouri State (preferred walk-on) and Mount St. Joseph.

    Grant Whitmire, St. Xavier

    Year: Senior

    Height/weight: 6-2/275

    What to know: Expected to be the anchor of St. X’s line this season. Moving from guard to tackle.
