A famed Kentucky distillery is preparing for an expansion.

Maker's Mark Distillery in Marion County will undergo an $18.5 million "tourism development project," according to the August agenda for the Kentucky Tourism Development Finance Authority meeting .

The project will expand the Star Hill Farm experience through, "cocktail and culinary education, fine dining, tasting room, and a bourbon library."

The project is expected to start construction soon and be completed in early 2026.

The state awarded the Maker's Mark project roughly $3.4 million in incentives over 10 years. As part of these incentives, Maker's Mark must keep the project, once completed, open to the public at least 100 days a year and is expected to attract 25% of total visitors from outside of Kentucky.
