A Bardstown Road brewery staple has closed its doors.

Against the Grain Public House, 1576 Bardstown Road, opened in 2019 — just before the Covid-19 pandemic shuttered restaurants and bars nationwide.

In a Facebook post, the brewery said of the closing: "The timing of our lease renewal, coupled with the changing landscape of the neighborhood and the evolving market, has led us to this choice. While this decision was not easy, it was made with the long-term success and stability of Against The Grain in mind."

The Facebook post went on to say the location in the Deer Park neighborhood was unable to reach "its full potential."

At this time, Against the Grain is focusing on its other location at 401 E. Main St.

"The friendships and memories built in this space will always be a part of ATG’s story," The Facebook post stated. "We look forward to continuing to serve you at our Downtown location, where we remain committed to delivering the same quality and experience you’ve come to expect."
