LMPD: 1 dead, 1 seriously injured in motorcycle crash Friday night

One woman is dead and a man is seriously hurt following a motorcycle crash Friday.

Louisville Metro Police spokesperson John Bradley said Sixth Division officers responded to a report of a crash that resulted in injuries in the 4400 block of Preston Highway shortly before 7:40 p.m. Upon arrival, officers found a motorcycle carrying two passengers that had collided with a white SUV.

Both the man and woman were taken to UofL Hospital with critical injuries, where the woman was later pronounced dead. The man was in serious condition as of Friday night, Bradley said.

The two motorcycle passengers have yet to be identified by officials, though both are thought to be adults. Neither of them were wearing helmets, investigators said.

LMPD Traffic is leading the crash investigation.
