    Trinity football falls to Indiana power Center Grove, more Week 3 Louisville-area results

    The passing combination of Gabe McWilliams and Drake McClurg torched the Trinity High School football team Friday night.

    McWilliams passed for 355 yards and three touchdowns — all to McClurg — as Indiana power Center Grove beat host Trinity, 24-10.

    McWilliams completed 21 of 34 passes. McClurg had 12 catches for 247 yards for the Trojans (2-1), who defeated Trinity 34-7 last year on their way to reaching the Indiana Class 6A state semifinals.

    Zach Floyd’ s 18-yard touchdown run pulled Trinity within 14-7 midway through the third quarter. Carson Hilbert’s 32-yard field goal made it 17-10 with 6:15 remaining, but McWilliams’ third touchdown pass of the night put the game away.

    Trinity quarterback Zane Johnson completed 14 of 30 passes for 100 yards with one interceptions. Jamaurion Berry carried 10 times for 76 yards, and Jeremiah Lynn had eight catches for 60 yards.

    Trinity, ranked No. 1 in Class 6A , dropped to 2-1.

    Oldham County 7, Fern Creek 6

    The Tigers’ 2-point conversion pass with 5:11 remaining failed, allowing the Colonels to escape with the victory.

    Oldham County improved to 3-0 for the first time since starting 6-0 in 2021.

    Derek Dees’ 2-yard touchdown pass to Miller Brown gave Oldham County a 7-0 lead with 1:54 left in the second quarter.

    K.P. Passmore’s 14-yard touchdown pass to T.J. Cothron pulled the Tigers within 7-6 midway through the fourth quarter.

    Fern Creek outgained Oldham County in yardage, 210-120, but had four turnovers compared with Oldham County’s one.

    Dees completed 8 of 18 passes for 69 yards. Passmore was 9 of 18 for 94 yards but was intercepted three times. Brown picked off two of Passmore’s attempts.

    Christian Academy 49, North Hardin 0

    Connor Hodge passed for 188 yards and two touchdowns and also rushed for a score to lead the host Centurions (3-0) — ranked No. 1 in Class 3A — over the Trojans (1-2).

    Hodge completed 16 of 22 passes and also rushed for 45 yards on nine carries as CAL extended its winning streak to 14 going back to last season.

    Garyon Hobbs (43 yards, two touchdowns) and Tyree Stoner (26 yards, one touchdown) contributed to CAL’s rushing attack. Ja’Hyde Brown was the top receiver with eight catches for 126 yards and a touchdown.

    Man Robinson and Jayson Ruffin both had interceptions to lead CAL’s defense.

    North Oldham 54, Tates Creek 12

    Colin Daniels passed for 274 yards and four touchdowns — all to Gray Schmittel — as the host Mustangs (3-0) blitzed the Commodores (2-1).

    North Oldham is 3-0 for the first time since starting 4-0 in 2012.

    Daniels completed 21 of 25 passes and also rushed for 35 yards. Schmittel had eight catches for 114 yards and caught touchdown passes of 1, 1, 7 and 18 yards.

    Zachary Mortenson and Kingston Dugan both had touchdown runs for North Oldham. Dugan also threw a 40-yard touchdown pass to Lucas Tompkins.

    Tates Creek quarterback Darnell Burnside passed for 158 yards and two touchowns.

    Collins 35, Paul Dunbar 0

    Kade Goodin rushed for 115 yards and accounted for all five touchdowns — three rushing, two passing — to lead the host Titans (2-1) over the Bulldogs (0-3).

    Goodin completed 7 of 10 passes for 106 yards and threw touchdown passes to Quinten Wooten and Logan Huelsman. Goodin scored on runs of 5, 5 and 1 yard.

    Paul Dunbar managed 116 total yards and committed six turnovers.

    Valley 38, Shawnee 6

    Mekhi Moore and Jamie Jones both threw two touchdown passes to lead the host Vikings (2-1) over the Golden Eagles (0-3).

    Moore completed 12 of 19 passes for 207 yards, and Jones completed 6 of 11 passes for 182 yards.

    DeVuan Jones had nine receptions for 243 yards and four touchdowns. Amere Jones had an interception and returned a punt for a touchdown.

    Bullitt Central 35, Garrard County 21

    A.J. Lee passed for 210 yards and four touchdowns to lead the host Cougars (1-2) over the Golden Lions (1-2).

    Lee completed 9 of 14 passes and also rushed for 60 yards and a touchdown. Nate Tomes was the top receiver with four catches for 117 yards and a touchdown. Michael Anderson had two touchdown catches, and Rylan Morris added one.

    Bullitt East 42, North Bullitt 7

    Cole Cornell threw three touchdown passes to Caden Bostock and also rushed for a score to lead the host Chargers (3-0) over the Eagles (2-1).

    Eastern 31, Fairdale 13

    Zane Wagner threw two touchdown passes to lead the host Eagles (2-1) over the Bulldogs (0-3).

    Mykel Bradshaw and Grayson Napier caught touchdown passes from Wagner as Eastern rallied from an early 13-0 deficit.

    Thursday’s game

    DuBois 20, Southern 9

    Mareese Naves scored three touchdowns to lead the Lions (2-1) over the host Trojans (0-3).

    Southern’s Timarsean Rogers posted eight tackles (three solo) and returned an interception for a touchdown.
