Louisville football goes into its first bye with a 2-0 record and the No. 21 and 19 ranking in the US LBM Coaches Poll and Associated Press Top 25 , respectively, released Sunday afternoon.

The Cardinals outscored their first two opponents, 111-14, after defeating Jacksonville State, 49-14, on Saturday at home. Louisville is scheduled to begin ACC play against Georgia Tech on Sept. 21 at L&N Stadium.

U of L joins Miami (No. 12 in coaches poll, 10 in AP), Clemson (No. 20, 22) and Boston College, which debuted at No. 24 in the AP poll, as the ACC's ranked teams. Of the squads, only the Tigers have lost a game.

Louisville's 2-0 start in back-to-back seasons is the first time the program has done so since the 2016 and 2017 seasons, when the Cardinals finished 9-4 and 8-5, respectively.
