Former President Donald Trump, the presidential nominee for the Republican party, and Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential nominee, faced off in a debate on Tuesday night and it won't be long before their running mates do so as well.

The elections are coming up soon but before heading to the polls, voters can listen to candidates voice their opinions on key issues during debates moderated by national news outlets. The recent presidential debate was hosted by ABC and the upcoming vice presidential debate is organized by CBS.

CBS previously stated that it invited both candidates to debate in New York on Sept. 17, Sept. 24, Oct. 1 and Oct. 8. Walz confirmed on X that he agreed to debate Ohio Sen. JD Vance, writing "See you on October 1, JD."

In a Fox News appearance, Vance previously said that he probably would debate Walz on that date but that he first needed to consider the proposed moderators and rules surrounding the showdown. Vance confirmed Thursday on X that he accepted the Oct. 1 invitation and that he'd also like to debate Sept. 18.

"The American people deserve as many debates as possible, which is why President Trump has challenged Kamala to three of them already," Vance wrote in reply to Walz . "I look forward to seeing you at both!"
