Picture this: It's the weekend and you're a 78-year-old man running for the highest elected office in the country. National polls suggest there's an almost razor-thin margin of popularity separating you and your opponent after a debate that didn't exactly go in your favor . How do you drum up more support?

Do you hold another fundraiser? Release a detailed, more comprehensive plan for healthcare? Or do you pick a fight with arguably the world's most popular music idol and her legions of devoted fans?

If you're Donald Trump, you write all in caps, " I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT " and let the social media comments fly where they may — and fly they did.

The former president and current Republican nominee's bad blood with Swift appears to have boiled over days after she endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris , his Democratic rival in the 2024 presidential election.

On Sunday, Trump posted " I hate Taylor Swift ," to his 7.71 million followers on his social media website, Truth Social. His remark came less than a week after the pop star voiced her support for Harris in an Instagram post to her 284 million followers, signing it, ' Childless Cat Lady ' in a dig to JD Vance, Trump's running mate.

Swift called Harris a "steady-handed, gifted leader" who would fight for the causes she believed in, and encouraged her millions of followers to register to vote.

Trump, whose campaign only recently began selling t-shirts with a similar aesthetic as the Taylor Swift Eras Tour merchandise, appears to be over it now. Swift's fans, however, might not be. Here's what's being said on social media.
