    Rain, high winds move many local HS football games to Saturday

    Hurricane Helene has caused changes to the high school football schedule in Southwestern Indiana.

    The Evansville Vanderburgh School Corp. announced all after-school activities were postponed Friday because of forecasted weather. Each football game will be played Saturday at times to be announced.

    EVSC Athletics Director Andy Owen sent the following message:

    “Due to the forecasted high winds and heavy rain from the remnants of hurricane Helene in our region, all EVSC after-school and evening activities will be cancelled today, September 27. This cancellation includes tonight’s football games. The football games will be rescheduled for (Saturday). Start times will be announced as soon as details are finalized.”

    • Boonville at Mount Vernon - Saturday, 11 a.m. CST
    • Mater Dei at North - Saturday, 12 p.m. CST
    • Harrison at Vincennes Lincoln - Saturday, 12 p.m. CST
    • Tecumseh at North Posey - Saturday, 12 p.m. CST
    • Castle at Reitz - Saturday, 3 p.m. CST
    • Jasper at Central - Saturday, 3 p.m. CST
    • Gibson Southern at Heritage Hills - Saturday, 4 p.m. CST
    • West Washington at North Daviess, 6 p.m. CST
    • Bosse at Memorial - TBA
    • Southridge at Tell City - TBA
