    Defiance common pleas

    Diontae Torrez, 39, 09245 Christy Road, pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual battery, each a third-degree felony, according to Prosecutor Morris Murray’s office. He was given a 48-month prison term, with credit for 230 days served in jail while his case was pending, and classified as a Tier III sexual offender. Torrez engaged in coerced sexual conduct with an adult female from May 22-May 27 at his residence.

    Cory Estes, 33, 136 E. High St., pleaded guilty to trafficking in cocaine, a second-degree felony; and trafficking in a fentanyl-related compound, a third-degree felony. He was given a three- to six-year prison term with credit for 52 days served in jail while his case was pending and ordered to pay $3,900 restitution to the Multi-Area Narcotics Unit for the drug transactions to a confidential informant.

    James Wood, 33, Sidney, appeared for sentencing on a charge of trafficking in marijuana, a third-degree felony. He was given an 18-month prison term with credit for seven days served in jail while his case was pending.

    Mackenzie Cordle, 27, Sherwood, appeared for sentencing on a charge of arson, a fourth-degree felony. He was placed on community control for three years with conditions, including that he pay $1,532.73 in restitution to victim. He set fire to another person’s belongings during a domestic dispute on July 29 on Sherwood’s West Cedar Street.

    Jonathan Schnebelt, 36, Harlan, Ind., appeared for sentencing on a charge of OVI, a fourth-degree felony. He was placed on community control for four years, given 60 days in CCNO, fined $1,350, ordered to pay $515 restitution to the Defiance County Sheriff’s Office and given a five-year operator’s license suspension.

    Ayden Arnold, 25, Shelbyville, Ind., pleaded guilty to trafficking in marijuana, a third-degree. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered and his bond was continued. Sentencing was set for March 4.

    Matthew Hammon, 48, Bryan, pleaded guilty to aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered and his bond was continued. Sentencing was set for March 7.

    Rick Fuller, 66, Ney, pleaded guilty to aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered and his bond was continued. Sentencing was set for March 27.

    Adam Furrow, 32, Stryker (CCNO), pleaded guilty to importuning, and failure to provide notice of change of address, each a fourth-degree felony. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered and his bond was continued. Sentencing was set for Feb. 8.

    Roger Gerlach, 46, Stryker (CCNO), pleaded guilty to attempted vandalism, a first-degree misdemeanor. He was placed on probation for three years with conditions, including that he pay $500 restitution to victim.

    Nathan Rhonehouse, 40, 1516 Terrawenda Drive, pleaded no contest to strangulation, a fourth-degree felony; and domestic violence, a first-degree misdemeanor. He was found guilty and his bond was modified to personal-recognizance with monitoring. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered and sentencing was set for March 11.

    Christopher Henry, 46, Fostoria, pleaded guilty to sexual battery, a third-degree felony. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered and his bond was continued. Sentencing was set for March 25. A charge of rape, a first-degree felony, will be dismissed at sentencing.

    Andrew Layne, 44, Stryker (CCNO), pleaded not guilty to violating a protection order, a third-degree felony; and aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony. A pre-trial hearing was scheduled for Feb. 20 and bond was set at $25,000 with a 10% allowance provision.

    Damarcus Tipton, 30, Indianapolis, pleaded not guilty to possession of marijuana, a fifth-degree felony. A pre-trial hearing was set for Feb. 22 and he was given a personal-recognizance bond.

    Clinton Vanscoder, 19, Stryker (CCNO), pleaded not guilty to burglary, a second-degree felony; and theft, a fifth-degree felony. A pre-trial hearing was scheduled for Feb. 12 and bond was set at $250,000 with a 10% allowance provision.

    Dorian Venable, 26, 1600 S. Clinton St., pleaded not guilty to three counts of rape, each a first-degree felony. A pre-trial hearing was set for Feb. 20 and bond was set at $2 million with a 10% allowance provision.
