    Defiance common pleas

    Stephanie Charles, 46, Stryker (CCNO), appeared for sentencing on a charge of burglary, a second-degree felony, according to Prosecutor Morris Murray’s office. She was sentenced to 5-7 1/2 years in prison to be served concurrently with a prior term, with credit for 322 days served in jail while her case was pending. The charge allege that on Feb. 21 she trespassed in a residence on Defiance’s Langlan Drive.

    Dylan Brown, 27, 409 Northfield Ave., pleaded no contest to strangulation, a third-degree felony, and was found guilty. He was sentenced to 30 months in prison to be served consecutive to a prior term for a total of 54 months, with credit for 92 days served in jail while his case was pending. Brown created a substantial risk of serious physical harm to the victim by means of strangulation or suffocation a residence on Defiance’s Northfield Avenue on Aug. 6.

    Jacob Barton, 31, Fort Wayne, pleaded guilty to importuning, a third-degree felony; and disseminating matter harmful to juveniles, a fourth-degree felony. He was given a 47-month prison term with credit for 55 days served in jail while his case was pending and classified as a tier I sexual offender.

    James Allen, 55, Stryker (CCNO), appeared for sentencing for two counts of strangulation, each a fourth-degree felony. He was sentenced to 34-month prison term with credit for 176 days served in jail while his case was pending.

    Adam Furrow, 32, Stryker (CCNO), appeared for sentencing on charges of importuning, a fourth-degree felony; and failure to provide notice of change of address, a fourth-degree felony. He was sentenced to a 12-month prison term and given credit for 69 days served in jail while his case is pending.

    Ashton Bigger, 18, Ney, appeared for sentencing for aggravated possession of drugs (methamphetamine), a fifth-degree felony, and tested positive at his sentencing hearing for methamphetamine and amphetamine use. He was sentenced to six months in prison.

    Jennifer Ankney, 44, 1130 Ayersville Ave., pleaded guilty to domestic violence, a first-degree misdemeanor, and was placed on probation for two years.

    Karl Hasbrouck, 53, 1054 Holgate Ave., appeared for sentencing on a charge of aggravated possession of drugs (methamphetamine), a fifth-degree felony, and was placed on community control for two years with conditions.

    Darrell Mawk, 54, address unavailable, pleaded guilty plea to unauthorized use of a vehicle, a fifth-degree felony; and appeared for sentencing on a charge of failure to provide notice of change of address, a fourth-degree felony. He was placed on community control for two years with conditions, including that he complete the SEARCH program.

    Rebekah Miller, 32, Paulding, appeared for sentencing for aggravated possession of drugs (methamphetamine), a third-degree felony, and was placed on community control for two years.

    Anthony Rodriguez, 35, Stryker, appeared for sentencing on a charge of domestic violence, a fourth-degree felony. He was placed on community control for three years with conditions, including that he complete the SEARCH program.

    Juana Rodriguez, 47, 109 Seneca St., appeared for sentencing on two counts of corrupting another with drugs (marijuana), each a fourth-degree felony; and endangering children, a first-degree misdemeanor. She was placed on community control for two years.

    Tyler Sanders, 40, 21799 Ohio 18, appeared for sentencing on a charge of domestic violence, a fourth-degree felony, and was placed on two years community control with conditions.

    Megan Smith, 41, 617 Briarheath Drive, appeared for sentencing on charges of aggravated possession of drugs (methamphetamine), a fifth-degree felony; and domestic violence, a first–degree misdemeanor. She was placed on community control for two years with conditions.

    Tommy Bigger, 31, Grafton (ODRC), pleaded guilty to 10 counts of pandering sexually-oriented matter involving a minor or impaired person, a fourth-degree felony. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered and his bond was continued. Sentencing was set for March 28.

    George Mack, 35, Toledo, pleaded guilty to possession of a fentanyl-related compound, and aggravated possession of drugs, each a fifth-degree felony. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered and his bond was continued. Sentencing was set for March 14.

    Ashley Ramirez, 37, 627 Riverside Ave., pleaded guilty to permitting drug abuse, a fifth-degree felony. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered and her bond was continued. Sentencing was set for March 11.

    Thomas Santos, 49, 920 Harrison Ave., was found competent to stand trial and pleaded guilty to aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered and his bond was modified to personal-recognizance. Sentencing was set for March 5.

    Randy Bond, 68, Stryker (CCNO), pleaded not guilty to six counts of rape, a first-degree felony; and six counts of sexual battery, a third-degree felony. A pre-trial hearing was scheduled and bond was set at $3 million with a 10% allowance provision.

    William Ebersole, 58, 1983 S. Jefferson Ave., pleaded not guilty to aggravated trafficking in drugs, a fourth-degree felony; and aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony. A pre-trial hearing was scheduled and he was given a personal recognizance bond.

    Gale Davis, 57, 02657 Ohio 66, pleaded not guilty to two counts of aggravated possession of drugs, each a fifth-degree felony. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for March 7 and he was given a personal-recognizance bond.

    Leslee Newsom, 49, Stryker (CCNO), pleaded not guilty to engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity, a second-degree felony; and theft, a fifth-degree felony. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for Feb. 27 and bond was set at $25,000 with a 10% allowance provision.Jennifer Long, 36, Bethel, pleaded not guilty to aggravated possession of drugs, and possession of a fentanyl-related compound, each a fifth-degree felony; OVI, and two counts of endangering children, each a first-degree misdemeanor. A pre-trial hearing was scheduled and she was given a personal-recognizance bond.

    David Mendieta, 61, Hicksville, pleaded not guilty to aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony. A pre-trial hearing was set and he was given a personal-recognizance bond.

    Joe Mendez Jr., 19, 1221 Ayersville Ave., pleaded not guilty to domestic violence, a fifth-degree felony; and felonious assault, a second-degree felony. A pre-trial hearing was scheduled and bond was set at $100,000 with a 10% allowance provision.

    Ashley Roddy, 34, Cloverdale, pleaded not guilty to aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony. A pre-trial hearing was scheduled and she was given a personal-recognizance bond.
