    Defiance common pleas

    Michael Braatz, 56, Toledo, pleaded not guilty to engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity, a second-degree felony; theft, a fifth-degree felony; misdemeanor theft, a first-degree misdemeanor. A pre-trial hearing was scheduled for Sept. 23 and bond was set at $25,000 with a 10% allowance provision.

    Mackenzie Carpenter, 34, 733 Westwood Drive, pleaded guilty to unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, a second-degree felony. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered and her bond was continued. Sentencing was set for Oct. 7.

    Jeana Cavender, 56, Stryker (CCNO) pleaded guilty to engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity, a second-degree felony; and three counts of theft, each a fifth-degree felony. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered and her bond was modified to a personal-recognizance bond. Sentencing was set for Oct. 16.

    Bianca Escamilla, 44, Holgate, pleaded guilty to theft, a fifth-degree felony. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered and her bond was continued. Sentencing was set for Oct. 7.

    Maggie Groh, 25, Grover Hill, pleaded guilty to aggravated trafficking in drugs, a fourth-degree felony. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered and her bond was continued. Sentencing was set for Oct. 22.

    Richard Parsons, 27, Stryker (CCNO) pleaded guilty to possession of a fentanyl related compound, a fifth-degree felony; and failure to appear as required by recognizance, a fourth-degree felony. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered and his bond was continued. Sentencing was set for Oct. 8.

    Christine Schappert, 44, 1660 Twin Drive, pleaded guilty to tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered and her bond was continued. Sentencing was set for Oct. 23.

    Bobby Thompson, 46, Antwerp, pleaded guilty to grand theft, a fourth-degree felony. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered and the defendant’s bond was continued. Sentencing was set for Oct. 8.

    Austin Yant, 29, 701 Holly Glen Drive, pleaded guilty to aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony; and OVI, a first-degree misdemeanor. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered and his bond was continued. Sentencing was set for Oct. 23.

    Austin Brown, 23, Fort Wayne, pleaded not guilty to strangulation, a fourth-degree felony; domestic violence, and endangering children, each a first-degree misdemeanor. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for Sept. 23 and he was given a personal-recognizance bond.

    Brittany Chupurdy, 35, Stryker (CCNO) pleaded not guilty to aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for Sept. 16 and she was given a personal-recognizance bond.

    C. Keiyah Marshall, 22, Stryker (CCNO) pleaded not guilty to failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer, a third-degree felony. Competency and criminal responsibility evaluations were ordered, and the matter continued was to the call of the court. Bond was set at $25,000 with a 10% allowance provision.

    Santos Marroquin, 47, 8274 Ohio 15, pleaded not guilty to having weapons while under disability, a third-degree felony. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for Sept. 10 and he was given a personal-recognizance bond.

    Cameron West, 26, Stryker (CCNO) pleaded not guilty to three counts of endangering children, each a fifth-degree felony; and OVI, a first-degree misdemeanor. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for Sept. 23 and bond was set at $25,000 with a 10% allowance provision.
