    Defiance County grand jury returns indictments against six persons

    A Defiance County grand jury has returned indictments against six persons, according to Prosecutor Morris Murray's office.

    Indicted were:

    • Adalberto Vega Jr., 43, 1034 Ottawa Ave., for three counts of domestic violence, each a third-degree felony; and two counts strangulation, third- and fourth-degree felonies. The indictment allege that in August 2023, February 2024 and August 2024 at a residence on East Second Street that he caused, or attempted to cause, physical harm to a family or household member, having had four prior domestic violence convictions. Authorities further allege that during the incident this year, Vega created a substantial risk of serious physical harm to the victim by means of strangulation and suffocation.

    • Bobby Hunt, 41, 1380 Ayersville Ave., for three counts of failure to appear as required by recognizance, each a fourth-degree felony. The indictment alleges that on Aug. 26 he failed to appear for hearings in Defiance County Common Pleas Court after having been released on a personal-recognizance bond in three cases.

    • Mark Shaw, 27, Oakwood, for menacing by stalking, a fourth-degree felony. The charge alleges that on Aug. 21-22 he engaged in a pattern of conduct that caused mental distress to another person, causing the victim to believe that he would cause that person or their family physical harm. He also allegedly trespassed on the land or premises where the victim lives.

    • Jessica Fonseca, 48, 936 Wilhelm St., for aggravated possession of drugs (methamphetamine), a fifth-degree felony.

    • Marcia King, 49, 431 Walnut St., for obstructing justice, a fifth-degree felony. Authorities allege that on Aug. 26 at her residence she hindered the discovery or apprehension of another person on a felony crime.

    • Andrea Morrow, 45, Celina, for two counts of aggravated possession of drugs (methamphetamine and oxycodone), each a fifth-degree felony.
