    Defiance common pleas

    Austin Brooks, 29, Paulding, pleaded guilty to failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer, a third-degree felony, according to Prosecutor Morris Murray’s office. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered and his bond was continued. Sentencing was scheduled for Oct. 21.

    Jacob Frericks, 33, 518 Washington Ave., pleaded no contest to domestic violence, a fourth-degree felony, and was found guilty. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered and his bond was continued. Sentencing was scheduled for Oct. 30.

    Michael Forwerck, 52, Decatur, Ind., pleaded guilty to attempted engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity, a third-degree felony; and theft, a fifth-degree felony. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered and his bond was continued. Sentencing was scheduled for Oct. 24.

    Nicholas Gebers, 18, Stryker (CCNO), pleaded guilty to pandering sexually-oriented matter involving a minor or impaired person, a second-degree felony; and interference with custody, a fifth-degree felony. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered and his bond was continued. Sentencing was scheduled for Nov. 4.

    Craig Koch, 51, Holgate, pleaded guilty to failure to appear as required by recognizance, a fourth-degree felony; and two counts of non-support of dependents, each a fifth-degree felony. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered and his bond was continued. Sentencing was scheduled for Oct. 22.

    Correy Williams Jr., 22, Stryker (CCNO), pleaded guilty to failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer, a third-degree felony; domestic violence, a fourth-degree felony; and OVI, a first-degree misdemeanor. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered and his bond was continued. Sentencing was scheduled for Oct. 3.

    Bernard Bates, 83, 1302 Byrnwyck Court, pleaded not guilty to two counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor, each a second-degree felony; and two counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor, each a fourth-degree felony. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for Sept. 25 and he was given a personal-recognizance bond.

    Sarah Jackson, 43, Bryan, pleaded not guilty to aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for Sept. 26 and she was given a personal-recognizance bond.

    Megan Weldon, 33, Antwerp, pleaded not guilty to theft, a fifth-degree felony. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for Sept. 30 and she was given a personal-recognizance bond.

    Adalberto Vega Jr., 43, 1034 Ottawa Ave., pleaded not guilty to three counts of domestic violence, each a third-degree felony; and two counts strangulation, third- and fourth-degree felonies. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for Sept. 24 and bond was set at $100,000 with a 10% allowance provision.
