    Putnam County grand jury returns indictments

    OTTAWA — A Putnam County grand jury has returned indictments against a number of persons during a recent session.

    Among those indicted were:

    • Derek Showalter, 41, Ottawa, for aggravated possession of drugs, a second-degree felony; domestic violence, a third-degree felony; and possession of cocaine, a fifth-degree felony. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges and they are set for a pretrial hearing on Oct. 3. Bond was set at $100,000 cash or surety.

    • Anthony Hazelton, 41, Ottawa, for possession of a controlled substance, a first-degree felony.

    • Jaime Ebersole, Napoleon, for theft, a fourth-degree felony. The charge alleges that from March 24-July 31 she stole property or services totaling $52,704.15 from the John Brecht Estate.

    • Zackery Johnson, 33, Cloverdale, for two counts of aggravated possession of drugs, each a fifth-degree felony.

    • Catherine Schimmoller, 35, Cloverdale, for aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony.
