Highland Village P&Z to consider patio home development
The Highland Village Planning & Zoning Commission on Tuesday will consider a proposed development for 25 new patio homes near Heritage Elementary School. DJB Development is requesting a zoning change for a 4-acre tract at 102 Barnett Boulevard from SF-40 to a Planned Development District. The concept plan calls for 25 homes at the proposed “Magnolia Village,” as well as the preservation of existing trees on the western property line. According to the meeting agenda, the patio homes would be a minimum of 1,647 square feet and there would be a homeowners’ association and a masonry screen wall along Barnett Boulevard.
Harvest Happenings — July 2024
Can you believe we are more than halfway through the year! Time goes by fast doesn’t it? I recently saw the Harvest home count, which is 2,829 occupied homes, and was blown away! It’s hard to believe when I started nearly 10 years ago, we only had 100 homes on the ground. The growth has been steady. We still have a little ways to go to total buildout (4,074 homes).
Flower Mound seeking nominations for Tree Recognition Program
The town of Flower Mound announced this week that it is currently accepting nominations for its 2024 Tree Recognition Program. The program is designed to raise awareness about the importance of trees in the local community, promote proper tree care and good tree health, increase community involvement and pride in these natural resources, and recognize those who own and care for significant trees in Flower Mound, the town said in a news release. To qualify for the program, the tree must fall into one or more of the following categories:

Northwest ISD offers help for families with enrollment event
Northwest ISD announced Thursday that it will host a district enrollment event next week for families who need help enrolling their students for the 2024-25 school year. Families can enroll online here, but the district is offering this event for those who need assistance. It is scheduled for 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 20 at the temporary NISD administration building at 2051 Texan Drive. Attendees should park in the back parking lot and enter through the west door, and they should bring the birth certificate, immunization records and proof of residency for each student to be enrolled, according to a district news release.
