In recent news, the Chicago Bears signed veteran wide receiver DeAndre Carter to a new deal, adding to the team’s offensive depth chart. NFL to add veteran officials to Officiating Leadership team
To strengthen the leadership officiating team, the NFL added veteran officials Mark Butterworth and Ramon George to help improve their ongoing Officiating Improvement Plan. Butterworth, who has worked in NFL replay booths for the past 25 seasons, has been named vice president of replay training and development. George, who spent the past eight seasons as an umpire, will come off the field to become the League’s vice president of officiating training and development. Both Butterworth and George will report to Senior Vice President of Officiating Administration Perry Fewell, according to the NFL.

Black and AAPI Youth to Spend Summer on a Journey of Racial Healing and Artistic Expression
The Love, Unity & Values Institute and the Coalition for a Better AAPI American Community collaborate to foster solidarity, reject biases. This summer, the Love, Unity & Values (LUV) Institute is partnering with the Coalition for a Better Chinese American Community (CBCAC) to guide five Black and five Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) teenagers on a six-week journey to promote racial healing, growth, self-identity, and racial solidarity. Chicago Department of Public Health confirms Chicago’s first West Nile virus-positive mosquitoes of 2024
The Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH) has confirmed the first West Nile virus (WNV)-positive mosquitoes of the year in the City, identified in three Chicago community areas: Greater Grand Crossing, Roseland and West Pullman.
