Trump says he’d be willing to go to jail over gag order violations
Former President Trump on Monday suggested he would be willing to go to jail over repeated violations of his gag order imposed by a New York judge. “This judge has given me a gag order and said you’ll go to jail if you violate it,” Trump told reporters after court adjourned for the day in his hush money trial. “And frankly, you know what, our Constitution is much more important than jail. It’s not even close. I’ll do that sacrifice any day.”
GCSC Inks Agreement to Sell Lincoln Achievement Center and Duncan School to Steel City Academy for $250,000
Public and Charter Entities have come together in support of Children. The Gary Community School Corporation (GCSC) has solidified an agreement to sell the adjacent properties of the former Lincoln Achievement Center (1988 Polk St.) and former David O. Duncan Elementary School (1109 W. 21st Ave.) to Steel City Academy for $250,000. Most recently used as the administrative offices for the district, Lincoln has been closed since 2019, and Duncan since 2012.
Purdue Northwest Wins BEA screenwriting Competition

Hammond state lawmakers comment on school closures
Earlier this week, the board of the School City of Hammond approved plans to consolidate the district by closing three of the elementary schools. The consolidation is said to save the district $5.6 million and will involve redistricting that will impact over 1,100 students, and 173 educators will be laid off. The day following the decision, the district closed down as many teachers called off to protest the closures and subsequent layoffs.
