CULLMAN, Ala. – The Cullman County District Attorney’s Office has a new assistant district attorney. Cullman County DA Champ Crocker recently announced the hiring of Kerry Baswell, who began the job May 17, 2024.

“Prior to joining this office, Mr. Baswell served as an assistant district attorney in the 19th Judicial Circuit of Alabama (Autauga, Chilton and Elmore counties),” Crocker said. “It takes skilled personnel to clear the backlog, and I am confident that ADA Baswell is equipped to help us do that.”

Baswell is a graduate of Cullman High School, Auburn University and Birmingham School of Law.

When he isn’t working, Baswell enjoys spending time with his family and coaching youth sports. Baswell joins the other Cullman County ADAs, Tina Burgett, Nathan Brock and Greg Johnson.

As a citizen, our DA Champ Crocker has done an outstanding job cleaning up our county regarding crime. I have never seen so many grand jury charges in a given year before Crocker was elected. Our county is a lot safer with Champ Crocker.
