LYNN, Ala. – Meek opened up the 2024 season on the road Friday night, kicking things off with a Winston County matchup against Lynn. Unfortunately for Tiger fans, the Bears jumped out to a 21-0 lead in the first quarter and Meek was unable to overcome the early deficit, dropping its first game of the season 33-20.

Trailing 21-0 in the second quarter, the Tigers got on the board when Evan McCay ran one into the end zone from 5 yards out. McCay found Jordan Phillips through the air for a successful two-point conversion and trimmed the lead to 21-8 midway through the second.

Lynn led the Tigers 27-8 at the end of the third quarter, but another touchdown run by McCay made it a 27-14 game with just over 10 minutes remaining on the clock. Both teams were able to get on the scoreboard one more time in the final period and Meek returned home with a 33-20 loss to the Bears.

The Tigers will be back home next week to host Winston County.
