Operation Round Up Board delivers $40K in paper to local schools

CULLMAN, Ala. – The Operation Round Up Board on Tuesday announced a $40,000 paper grant benefiting Cullman County Schools, Cullman City Schools, Sacred Heart, St. Paul’s, St. Bernard, Cullman Christian, Meek and Addison. The funding provides essential paper supplies, ensuring that students and teachers have the resources they need for a successful school year.

“Each year, the Operation Round Up Board allocates paper for each school based on the number of students and resources at each location,” stated Board Chair Sandra Tucker. “Schools receive additional paper for classroom updates, worksheets and other education needs. The Operation Round Up board is proud to supply this grant to help meet those needs.”

Schools benefit greatly from the grant, which helps alleviate their financial burdens. The funds and paper are distributed equitably across all schools, ensuring every institution receives support based on student enrollment.

In addition to the paper grant, the Operation Round Up Board meets five times throughout the school year to review and approve teacher-requested grants. These grants are approved based on available funding and whether the requested items will be used to benefit student education in the classroom.

Operation Round Up is a program provided to local schools by Cullman Electric Cooperative members and Cullman Power Board customers by rounding up their monthly electric bills. Of these funds, 100% goes back into classrooms across Cullman and Winston counties.
