CULLMAN, Ala. – Bessy Bug, The Cullman Tribune Pet of the Week, is a striking Greater Swiss Mountain Dog/Treeing Walker Hound mix.

At approximately 2 years old, Bessy Bug has displayed medium energy as she’s always ready for playtime – but understands when it’s quiet time.

She’s quickly learning how to be physically supportive, to assist people getting up off the ground, which is a major plus for anyone seeking a companion who can also help.

Bessy Bug will stay close to you, always, as it’s her nature. She loves to greet you with a soothing smile.

She is full of enthusiasm and awaiting that person or family where she can glide through life while helping.

Bessy Bug is without a doubt the quintessential therapy/companion/hiking gal for your home!

Are you ready to have a pal like Bessy Bug? Visit the shelter at 935 Convent Road NE. It’s open Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. If she’s already been adopted, don’t fret! Many of her friends are waiting for homes.

Her adoption fee includes a spay, DHLPP vaccine, Bordetella vaccines, rabies vaccine, wormer, general exam at the vet and microchip.
