The Currituck County High School Knights defeated the Camden County High School Bruins in girls soccer on Wednesday evening by a score of 4-0.

Currituck scored its first goal with 19 minutes remaining when Lisa Phillips found the back of the net on a penalty kick from a handball inside of the box.

The score remained 1-0 until halftime. Things opened up for the Knights in the second half, with the team scoring three goals. The first came from Mackenzie Meekins after a near-perfect pass from one of her teammates.

The Knights’ second goal of the second half came from Phillips, who scored her second goal, and the third came from Abigail Smith, who knocked in Currituck’s fourth goal of the evening.

The Knights were scheduled to play a home match against Landstown on Thursday, while the Bruins were set to face Southside on the road on Thursday.
