    ECPPS News: District announces 2024-25 school-level Teachers of Year

    Elizabeth City-Pasquotank Public Schools has announced its school-level Teachers of the Year for 2024-25.

    The 14 teachers from each of the district’s schools will now be considered for ECPPS District Teacher of the Year. Finalists for the district honor will be announced soon and the Teacher of the Year will be announced on May 9.

    The school-level teachers of the year and their school include:

    • Monica Burnham-Fulford: Central Elementary School

    • Liz Wooten: Elizabeth City-Pasquotank Early College

    • Christopher Wilder: Elizabeth City Middle School

    • Juvanda Crutch: H.L. Trigg Community School

    • Katrina Sutton: J.C. Sawyer Elementary School

    • Elizabeth Sundberg: Northeastern High School

    • Morris Ray Burnham: Northside Elementary School

    • Vivian “Mika” McDaniels: Pasquotank County High School

    • Britney Spence: Pasquotank Elementary School

    • Pamela Winslow: Pre-K education program

    • Jorice Manuel: P.W. Moore Elementary School

    • Alicia Palmer: River Road Middle School

    • Loretta Stokely: Sheep-Harney Elementary School

    • Briana Parker: Weeksville Elementary School.

    PCHS Symphonic Band participates in MPAThe Pasquotank County High School Symphonic Band recently earned an assessment of “excellent” during the NC Bandmasters Association Eastern District’s Music Performance Adjudication in Williamston.

    Bands are rated from 1 (superior) to 5 (poor). PCHS earned a 2, which is “excellent.” The band was judged on three pieces it had worked on this semester as well as on its “sight reading” ability, which requires performing a piece of music it had never before with only 5 minutes of preparation.

    The recent assessment was the band’s 13th “excellent” rating. It also has two previous “superior” ratings.
