    High School Roundup: Aces, Bruins tie 1-1 despite 2 OT periods

    John A. Holmes High School and Camden County High School played two overtime periods Monday but still ended their soccer match tied 1-1.

    Courtney Forbes scored the goal for Camden in the second half. Holmes scored its goal in the first half.

    Bruins goalkeeper Maria Lasher had 11 saves on 12 shots on goal.

    In other limited action on Monday, the Northeastern Eagles defeated cross-county rival and Northeastern Coastal Conference foe Pasquotank Panthers in girls soccer 3-1. It was the Eagles’ second win against the Panthers this season. They also won 6-1 last month. Northeastern is now 5-6 on the season and 3-9 in the NCC. The Panthers are 1-3 and 0-12 in the NCC.

    First Flight also shut out Currituck County 1-0. Summer Stevens had the goal for the Nighthawks, while Leighton Dutt had an assist.

    For Currituck, goalkeeper Grace Walls had six saves on seven shots on goal.
