Five Guys, Jersey Mike's Subs are nearing opening dates in Somerset

SOMERSET ― The second of three new restaurants coming to the borough is expected to open at the end of August.

Five Guys , a hamburger and fries shop based in Washington, D.C., plans to open its doors on Aug. 30 at 1180 N. Center Ave. in Somerset, in front of Georgian Place, according to the company's marketing representative.

"We have over 65 locations in Pennsylvania, and look forward to serving the residents of Somerset," said Brooke Blankenship, the company's public relations and marketing coordinator, in an email to the Daily American.

Five Guys offers freshly-made hamburgers with customizable toppings, french fries double-cooked in peanut oil and milkshakes with the choice of mixed-in additions, as well as hot dogs, grilled cheese, a BLT or a grilled vegetable sandwich, according to the menu posted at its website. The store also offers dine-in, takeout and delivery options.

Five Guys has over 1,500 stores worldwide, including the U.S., Canada, the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, Ireland, Germany, Italy and Hong Kong.

Jersey Mike's Subs , the third store going in, is also expected to open soon. The Daily American has reached out to the company for an expected opening date but we have not yet received a response.
