Senior quarterback Lucas Oleksa completed 10 of 19 passes for 103 yards and a touchdown, and added 51 yards and a score to lead Windber to a commanding 41-7 victory over Everett on Friday.

"After a surprise onside kick to start the game and a quick score by Everett, our kids really settled in and played lights out in all three phases," said Windber coach Matt Grohal. "We were really balanced tonight, throwing 19 passes in the first half. I thought we did a nice job of keeping them off balance tonight. Credit to my line keeping (Lucas) Oleksa upright and able to complete some nice throws to Evan Brady."

Everett (2-5) led 7-0 after one quarter.

Oleksa scored from 1-yard out and tossed a 4-yard touchdown pass to Brady, giving the Ramblers a 14-7 lead at the break. Brady finished with nine catches for 67 yards.

R.J. Tallion scored on touchdown runs of 36 and 2 yards in the third quarter. He finished with 93 yards on the ground. Cole Mash added a 3-yard TD run in the third to give the Ramblers a 35-7 lead after three.

Camden Marx set the final with a 5-yard touchdown run in the fourth. The Ramblers rushed for 243 yards on the night.

Jonas Krause went 5-for-5 on PATs.

Windber (5-2) hosts Berlin Brothersvalley (4-3) on Friday.

    Meyersdale drops second straight

Northern Bedford County's Aaron Bowers caught two second-quarter touchdown passes from quarterback Vaughn Schleinkofer to break open a tight contest against Meyersdale as the Black Panthers pulled away for a 35-14 win.

"The offense clicked better tonight, but untimely poor field position before halftime cause the game to get away from us," said Meyersdale coach Ryan Donaldson. "We battled in the second half but could not dig ourselves out of the hole."

Ben Clark gave Northern Bedford a 7-0 lead midway through the first on a 1-yard run.

Meyersdale signal-caller Lance Jones pulled the Red Raiders within one in the second on a 1-yard touchdown run. The PAT was no good.

Schleinkofer and Bowers connected on touchdown strikes of 20 and 18 yards. Schleinkofer also found Wesley Horsh for a 25-yard touchdown with just 56 seconds remaining in the second to propel the Black Panthers to a 28-7 lead at the break.

Carter Vogt caught a 22-yard touchdown pass from Jones with 5:26 left in the third to cut trim the deficit. However, Meyersdale would get no closer.

Clark added a 26-yard touchdown run in the fourth to set the final.

After dropping its second straight contest, Meyersdale (3-4) will look to rebound at Brownsville on Friday.

    Bedford rallies past Somerset

Bedford rallied from a 1-point halftime deficit, notching 20 points in the second half to defeat Somerset 26-16 on Friday.

“A typical Bedford versus Somerset game ‒ violent and physical,” said Somerset coach Jeff Urban. "We made plays, but they made more than we did. We got inside the red zone but made some mistakes. We are a playoff-caliber team, but have to get there and have upcoming games that we need to win.”

Somerset senior Rowan Holmes capped a 13-play, 78-yard drive with a 4-yard touchdown run to give Somerset a 7-0 lead following Josiah Antram's PAT with 5:20 to go in the second quarter.

Bedford quarterback Quincy Swaim pulled the Bisons (5-2) within one on a 13-yard touchdown run with 6 minutes left in the second.

Swaim connected with Owen Tedrow for a 73-yard touchdown with 1:17 remaining in the third to give Bedford a lead it would not relinquish.

Somerset's Lane Lambert gave the Golden Eagles the lead on a 7-yard touchdown run with 11:10 to go in the contest. He finished with 117 rushing yards on 23 carries.

However, Swaim scored on a 57-yard run, then found Tedrow on a 54-yard pitch-and-catch for a touchdown to extend the Bedford lead.

The Golden Eagles recorded a safety to set the final.

Somerset (2-5) visits winless Penns Valley on Friday.

Conemaugh Township drubbed by unbeaten Cambria Heights

Trey Trybus took a free kick 80 yards for a score, and Garrett Jasper recorded two rushing touchdowns for Cambria Heights in a 43-6 romp of Conemaugh Township on Homecoming in Davidsville.

"We knew going in to tonight that we needed to start fast," said Conemaugh Township coach Brandon Studer. "Once Cambria Heights get moving, they are hard to slow down. We were able to score and keep it close in the first, but after we got down a few scores, it was going to be tough to come back."

Greyson Studer tallied the lone Conemaugh Township touchdown of the game on a 1-yard run with 6:54 left in the first quarter.

The Highlanders led 16-6 after one and 37-6 at the break. Cambria Heights scored on four straight possessions to set the game out of reach.

Conemaugh Township (3-4) travels to Northern Cambria on Friday.
