    Things to do: Live music abounds for the week ahead

    FAIRVIEW — Guernsey County's Pennyroyal will host a bluegrass show Friday featuring Brother Randall & Friends. According to the press release, it is "a working-class bluegrass band whose members are from the Wheeling area. With traditional bluegrass and bluegrass gospel being their specialty, you could also expect to hear some classic country, folk and even a touch of classic rock. The band members include Greg Miller on fiddle, Clinton Curry playing guitar, Jeff Strautman on bass, Randall Curry playing guitar, Ben Peace on banjo and Bob Haglock playing dobro." The opening band for the evening will be Wills Creek. The kitchen and doors will open at 5 p.m., with the show beginning at 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the door and are $20, with those aged 12 and under free.     Music at the Brewhouse

    CAMBRIDGE — Start the weekend off at Guernsey Brewhouse by listening to the musical stylings of Ryan O'Flanagan. The show is scheduled to run from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. Upcoming events at the Brewhouse include Spencer Thomas performing from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday and a songwriter showcase at 6 p.m. Saturday, May 26. For more information call 740-995-3467.     Gravel road bike race

    COSHOCTON — Grab your bike and head to Coshocton for a challenging and fun new bike race. The inaugural Three Rivers Gravel Grinder will take place at 8 a.m. Saturday. According to the press release, "The race is a gravel road bike race open to all levels and experience of riders and features a 28-mile and 40-mile bike course starting at Coshocton Lake Park and winding its way through Coshocton County to finish back at Coshocton Lake Park. Please be advised there will be cyclists on many of the county roads between 8 a.m. and noon."     Adult prom

    CAMBRIDGE — Who says high schoolers are the only ones to enjoy prom? The Adult Prom, hosted by the Guernsey County Community Development Corp, the 2024 Forever Young Adult Prom will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Pritchard Laughlin Civic Center. Dance the night away to Gen-X hits, provided by Limitless DJ Service. A cash bar and finger foods will be available, and a raffle and 50/50 drawing will be held. Tickets are $25.     Concert series

    ZANESVILLE — The Secrest Summer Concert Series returns with a performance by Big Bad Stache. Grab your chair and head to Secrest Auditorium for this free summertime concert. The event will also feature DJ Adonis at 5 p.m. with Big Bad Stache taking the stage from 6:30 to 8 pm. on Thursday, May 23.
