BYESVILLE − The Meadowbrook High School class of 2024 walked those hallowed halls for the last time as students on Friday.

As students mentally prepared to embark upon this world, family and friends crammed into the gymnasium to watch the commencement program.

The Brook Singers started the event by singing the national anthem and the Meadowbrook alma mater. Class President Noah Farley addressed his classmates and welcomed the crowd before passing the podium to Superintendent Devon Dettra and Principal Scott Golec.

Golec quoted Forrest Gump in his speech, saying "Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get. I stand here today to tell you that you are getting a senior class that is very kind, hardworking, giving and proud to be a Colt. In closing, you are getting a class that is full of class, and I salute you. God bless and always, go Colts."

Summa Cum Laude students were introduced and each spoke to the crowd. The students receiving the distinction were Avery Black, Candy Jo Coulter, Owen Dennis, Noah Farley, Jannie Hull, Karly Launder, Sara Mignano and Taylor Sichina.

Sichina presented the class as Detra passed out the diplomas with laughter, handshakes and hugs. Class Treasurer Sara Mignano gave the closing remarks and announced the proclamation of graduation. Tassles were turned and caps flew into the air as parents, siblings, friends and family cheered and dried their tears.
