The Jackson Department of Veterans Affairs Regional Office in Jackson has reopened after extensive building renovations.

“During the last several months, employees of the Jackson VA Regional Office have continued to perform the essential mission of delivering much-earned benefits to Veterans and eligible family members,” said Jackson VA Regional Office Director Darryl Brady.

Earlier this month, VA released a new dashboard highlighting PACT Act benefits provided to Veterans and their survivors. Since the PACT Act was signed into law, in Mississippi alone, VA has granted 14,854 benefit claims to Veterans and their survivors, equating to $82,571,816.

During renovations, the Jackson VA Regional Office’s Public Contact Team relocated to the lobby of the G.V. “Sonny Montgomery” VA Medical Center lobby to offer one-on-one claims and benefits assistance to Veterans.

“I am proud to say the team in Jackson works with a passion. We process claims, but we recognize there is a unique Veteran on the other side of each and every claim,” said Brady. “We have a responsibility to those individuals who have selflessly served our country.”

VA Regional Offices provide financial and other forms of assistance to Veterans and their dependents. This includes disability compensation, survivor’s benefits, pension and fiduciary service, education and training, vocational rehabilitation and employment assistance, life insurance coverage, and home loan guaranties. VA disability compensation (pay) offers a monthly tax-free payment to Veterans who got sick or injured while serving in the military and to Veterans whose service made an existing condition worse.

The Jackson VA Regional Office, 1600 Woodrow Wilson Ave., is open Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.; closed on federal holidays.
