    Grab a float or walking shoes and register for the Berlin Harvest Fest parade

    Registration is underway for the annual Berlin Harvest Fest parade that will take place Sept. 7.

    Since July 2003, the Holmes County Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Bureau has worked alongside the Berlin Main Street Merchants to present the parade, which is part of Harvest Fest.

    Activities include live music on the Berlin square, a rib cook-off and food vendors.

    The parade steps off at 6 p.m. on U.S. Route 62 in front of Berlin Mennonite Church and heads west on state Route 39 and ends at the Berlin Elementary School.

    Parade sign-in will be located on Crilow Road. Entries must pre-registert.

    Marching bands, fire departments, businesses, residents and children are invited to participate.

    To pre-register a float, truck, walker or horse, or to volunteer, fill out a registration form and submit it to Michaela Miller at the Holmes County Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Bureau. It can be mailed, emailed to administrative@holmescountychamber.com, dropped off at the office or filled out online through the chamber website .

    There is no charge to participate. Throwing candy from a vehicle is prohibited. Participants passing out candy, food items, produce, promotional items, etc., must be handed out by walkers alongside the floats. Entries are due by Aug 30.
