    Full day at fairgrounds Sunday with petting zoo, hairy contests and couple of sweet events

    Birthday bash e vents we re real crowd pleasers during the last day celebrating the Wayne County Fair's 175th anniversay.

    Day 2 of the birthday celebration kicked off with the Northern Ohio Outlaw Mounted Shooting event at the horse arena and the mullet and beard contests in the entertainment tent.

    Mullets and beards of all sizes were on display as entrants were in the running for cash prizes.

    Following the hairy contests the crowd cheered on entrants in the Lerch’s Donut eating contest. Participants in the youth division had to eat four donuts, while the adults were given five.

    The youth division champ was named after an actual photo-finish, with the judges making a decision after viewing a video of the champion heat several times.

    A cinnamon roll baking contest with 38 entrants and food samples from the American Chuck Wagon Association were also on the agenda for visitors.

    Spring Mist Farm brought in animals for a petting zoo and animal demo. This along with the youth and adult tractor pedal pull were popular events.
